Acme Marine cc was started in 1994 in Richards Bay by Rob Farren-Handford to provide a general marine surveying service to the shipping industry in South Africa.
Apart from general surveying, the following appointments have been filled over the years.
- Supercargo in East Africa and Madagascar.
- P & I surveys on ship casualty and cargo claims.
- Retained by terminal stevedores to assist in marine matters at Richards Bay Coal Terminal.
- Third party surveyors.
